This Privacy Policy applies to DalalRadar (operated by Surender Kumar,
Dādri, Uttar Pradesh, India), accessible at dalalradar.com and
app.dalalradar.com (the "Service").

2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us directly
- Account info — name, email, password (hashed), when you sign up (planned, not yet live)
- Contact info — name, email, message contents when you use the contact form
- Payment info — handled entirely by our payment processor (Razorpay/Stripe). We never see your card
- Preferences — favorites, sector ordering, view settings (stored in browser localStorage)
2.2 Information we collect automatically
- Usage data — which tools you use, which sectors/stocks you view, timestamps
- Device data — browser, OS, screen size, IP address (for security and analytics)
- Cookies — minimal, see Section 6 below
2.3 Information we do NOT collect
- Your broker login or trading account credentials
- Your actual trades, positions, or portfolio
- Your bank details (handled only by payment gateway)
- Sensitive personal data (Aadhaar, PAN, biometrics) unless explicitly required by law
3. How we use your information
We use your data only for these purposes:
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service
- To respond to your contact messages
- To process payments (via Razorpay/Stripe)
- To send service-related emails (not marketing — those need explicit opt-in)
- To detect fraud, abuse, or security threats
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Legal basis (DPDP Act 2023 compliance)
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we process your data based on:
- Consent — you accept this policy by using the Service
- Contract — to deliver what you've paid for
- Legitimate use — fraud prevention, security, legal compliance
5. Data sharing
We share data only with:
- Payment processors (Razorpay, Stripe) — to process transactions
- Hosting providers (Vercel) — to serve the Service
- Analytics providers (planned: Plausible — privacy-friendly, no cookies) — to understand usage
- Legal authorities — only when required by valid court order or legal process in India
We never sell your personal data. Ever.
6. Cookies and tracking
We use minimal cookies — only what's needed for the Service to function (e.g., remembering you're logged in, which is planned). We do not use third-party advertising cookies, Facebook Pixel, or invasive trackers.
Your browser stores user preferences (favorites, settings) locally via localStorage.
This data never leaves your device.
7. Data retention
- Account data — kept while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account closure
- Contact form messages — kept for 2 years for support continuity
- Payment records — kept for 8 years (required by Indian tax law)
- Usage analytics — aggregated and anonymized after 90 days
8. Your rights (under DPDP Act 2023)
You have the right to:
- Access — see what data we have about you
- Correct — fix any inaccurate data
- Delete — request erasure of your data (with some legal exceptions)
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent — opt out of processing (may limit Service functionality)
- Grievance redressal — contact our Grievance Officer (below)
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@dalalradar.com with the subject line "Data Request". We'll respond within 30 days.
9. Security
We use industry-standard security measures: HTTPS everywhere, password hashing (bcrypt), encrypted database backups, principle-of-least-privilege access control, and regular security reviews. But no online service is 100% secure. If you suspect a breach, please email us immediately.
10. Children
DalalRadar is not intended for users under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, please contact us — we'll delete it promptly.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced via email (if you have an account) and via a banner on the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.

13. Governing law
