Common questions about DalalRadar — how it works, what it costs, what it means when a signal fires. Can't find your answer? Ask us directly.

🧭 Getting Started

What is DalalRadar?

DalalRadar is an analytics tool for Indian F&O markets. It aggregates publicly available NSE data (delivery percentages, open interest, sector flow, turnover) and surfaces patterns that suggest where institutional money is moving. You see this as a bubble timeline — one bubble per stock per day. Size shows money flow magnitude. Color shows the pattern type.

Is DalalRadar SEBI-registered?

No. DalalRadar is an analytics tool, not an investment advisory. We don't give buy/sell recommendations. We show data and patterns. What you do with that information is entirely your decision. Read our full disclaimer.

Who is this for?

Active F&O traders who want to add institutional money flow as one input to their decision-making. Especially useful if you already understand technical analysis but feel blind to who is doing the buying/selling. If you're new to trading entirely, start by learning the basics first — this tool won't replace fundamentals.

Do I need an account?

Not yet. During beta, the app is fully open. Accounts will be required when paid plans launch (to save preferences, manage subscription, etc.).

Is it free?

Yes — fully free during beta. Paid plans launch when the product matures. See our pricing page for the planned tiers.

📊 The Signals

What do the bubble colors mean?

Green bubbles = buying behavior (accumulation, strong buying, momentum buying). Red = selling/distribution. Yellow/Gold = caution or warning signals. Blue = early accumulation (before the obvious move). Purple = high-conviction momentum. Gray = neutral / no clear signal. Full color logic is on the methodology page.

What does the bubble size represent?

Bubble size = how much money is flowing through that stock on that day, weighted by our signal engine. Bigger bubble = more conviction in the pattern, more institutional footprint. The engine combines price × volume × delivery % × open interest into a single "money flow score".

How is "smart money" defined?

We don't have access to actual institutional trade data — nobody does outside the exchange. What we DO have is behavioral signatures: unusually high delivery % at certain price levels, OI buildup without price movement, sector rotations that correlate with FII flow data, and similar patterns that are statistically unlikely to come from retail behavior. We call this "smart money" as shorthand — it's really "behavior that looks institutional".

How accurate are the signals?

Honestly? It depends. Signals work better in trending markets than choppy ones. They work better on highly liquid stocks than illiquid ones. They work better as confirmation of your own thesis than as a primary entry trigger. We don't publish "win rate" claims because anyone showing 80% win rates is either lying or cherry-picking timeframes.

Use signals as one input to your analysis. Combine with price action, fundamentals, market context. Never trade off a single signal in isolation.

Why didn't the signal work on my trade?

Lots of reasons. The signal might have been a false positive (they happen). Market context may have changed (a news event, RBI announcement, geopolitical shock). The signal might have been valid but your entry/exit/position sizing was off. Or you might have ignored an offsetting signal. We're happy to look at specific cases — email contact@dalalradar.com.

💾 Data & Coverage

Which stocks are covered?

All 208 F&O stocks on NSE — i.e., the stocks that have active futures and options contracts. We don't cover cash-only stocks. We don't cover BSE-listed stocks (yet). We cover all 21 sectors as classified by NSE.

Is data real-time?

No. Data is end-of-day. It updates after market close (typically by 8-9 PM IST). Real-time data feeds are expensive and add complexity without much value for the kind of multi-day pattern analysis we do. If you need real-time, use your broker terminal.

How far back does data go?

Default view shows the last 90 days. We have data going back further (180 days, all-time) available in paid tiers when those launch.

Where does the data come from?

All data is sourced from publicly available NSE feeds — delivery percentages, bhavcopy, F&O statistics, sector classifications. Nothing is scraped from broker terminals or proprietary sources. Everything we use, you could theoretically download yourself from nseindia.com — we just clean, aggregate, and visualize it.

💰 Pricing & Payments

When will paid plans launch?

We're targeting late 2026. Until then, everything is free. Subscribe to our updates (via the app or by following @DalalRadarIN) to know when plans go live.

Can I get a refund?

Yes — see our Refund Policy. We offer 7-day refunds on monthly plans, 14-day on annual, and 30-day on lifetime plans.

Will there be a free tier?

Yes. The plan is to always have a meaningful free tier — including the core Smart Money Radar tool with current-month data. Paid tiers unlock historical data, additional tools, alerts, and advanced signals. See Pricing for details.

🛠️ Technical

Does DalalRadar work on mobile?

Yes, but desktop is the optimal experience. The bubble chart shows hundreds of data points simultaneously — that's hard to interact with on a phone screen. We've made it responsive but recommend tablet or laptop for serious analysis. A native mobile app is on the roadmap.

Can I export data?

Not yet. Data export is planned for paid tiers — CSV, JSON, and API access. For now, the app is browse-only.

Is there an API?

Not publicly. We have internal APIs but haven't opened them up. If you're a fund or institution interested in API access, email us for a chat.

Which browsers are supported?

Latest Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari. We don't actively test on Internet Explorer or older browsers. If something looks broken on a modern browser, please report it via the contact form.

🤝 General

Can I use DalalRadar for my hedge fund / trading group / educational program?

Yes, with limits. Personal use within an institution is fine. Reselling or rebranding DalalRadar data as your own product is not. For enterprise licensing, email contact@dalalradar.com.

Will you build [X feature]?

Maybe! We love feature ideas. Tell us what you want and why. We can't promise we'll build everything, but we read every request and prioritize based on how often something gets asked + how aligned it is with our mission.

Are you hiring?

Not yet. We're a one-person operation right now. If you'd like to collaborate (especially on data engineering, signal research, or content), feel free to reach out — we're open to part-time arrangements with strong builders.

How do I report a bug?

Email contact@dalalradar.com with the subject "Bug Report". Include: what you were doing, what you expected, what happened instead, your browser, and a screenshot if possible. We fix critical bugs within 48 hours.
